Our Clients: Students; between the ages 8 through 18 years old.
Our Purpose: To establish a platform for athletes to discover their talents, develop and improve their skills, through structured training programs and transition their progression to greater levels of success year over year.
Our Goal: To develop athletes in the sport of Track and Field in an environment, receiving instruction in the fundamentals of the sport and engage in competitions in a learning and fun filled environment.
Who Should Support: Parents, School Coaches & Physical Education Teachers in both the Public & Private Schools particularly; schools wishing to gain a competitive advantage by improving their overall sports performances in local, regional and championship competitions.
TRAINING STRUCTURE - Indoor and Outdoor preparation
- 2-4 track sessions per week
- 2 weight training sessions per week
Disciplines: Short sprinting, horizontal jumping (long and triple jumping), middle distance running (up to 800m).
Track Specific Tests: 40-60 meters speed, standing broad jump, standing vertical jump, 300m, and 600m endurance. Tests are used to determine event speciality areas and gauge progress.
Competitions: Marietta Comets Track Club participates in both Indoor and Outdoor competitions. A list of (In & Out of state) competitions are emailed and posted in our team APP schedule.
Communications: We use Band App for the majority of our communication for quick announcements and changes; all scheduled practices, locations and competitions are posted on the calendar in the App. Team emails are received from mptcomets@gmail.com
Instruction: The director of the program is Coach Nyles Stuart, CEO of MPT (Marietta Performance Training), and assisted by qualified specialty instructors. (see resume attached)
Training Locations: Track sessions are TBA, and weight training sessions are held at Marietta Performance Training gym facility.
Training Hours: Track sessions are TBA (typically between 5:30pm - 7:45pm), weight training sessions are TBA (typically between 5:30pm - 7:00pm). Any changes are listed 24 hours in advance.
Competitions: Competitions expand over an 8 month period. Indoor competitions are between December to February. Outdoor competitions for elementary and middle school athletes begin as early as March. Summer competitions begin as early as May and end in July.
